31-story luxury apartment tower is on schedule for completion in 2024
Tampa, Florida (June 30th, 2023) – Coastal Construction reached a significant milestone today on the Arts and Entertainment Residences (AER) in downtown Tampa with the topping out of the new 31-story tower. Developed by American Land Ventures with partner Gazit Horizons, the 334-unit high rise (RENDERING ATTACHED) is situated across from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, offering immediate access to the city’s cultural institutions while providing scenic city and river views to its residents who will be steps away from the iconic Tampa Riverwalk.
“Our team of skilled builders and dedicated workers proudly celebrate today’s topping out of this magnificent residential tower,” said Sean DeMartino, President of Central Florida for Coastal Construction – the general contractor on the project. “From laying the foundation to placing the top floor, this milestone is a testament to the collaborative spirit with American Land Ventures and the unwavering dedication of our entire team.”
Below is a look at the project by the numbers.
o Total Concrete 36,320 cubic yards
o Total Rebar 3173 tons
o Total Drywall 1,170,000 square feet
o Total Glass 85,233 square feet
o Plumbing 111,000 feet of water piping
o Electrical 118 miles of metal clad cable, 49 miles of PVC, 76 miles of wire
During today’s topping out, Coastal Construction took time to recognize the men and women who have worked on the building to achieve this important milestone. Two palm trees and an American flag were raised to the top of the building to commemorate today’s topping out. (PHOTO BELOW).
As a hub for the River Arts District, the tower will feature shops at the street level, with 13,802 square feet of ground-level retail space and 514 parking spaces in a structure above the shops. The project is a focal point between the Straz Center, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Riverwalk, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park—and the building’s design is influenced by those cultural connections.
Designed by architect CUBE 3, AER is expected to be completed in the spring of 2024.
